This magazine is a celebration of the history and legacy of Britains ancient fortifications. You will find details of the history of many of our finest castles, stories from myths and legends set in gothic fortifications, and beautiful art, from photos to paintings to tapestries.

This magazine set out the bold vision of a new organisation dedicated to rebuilding Britains strongholds: the Pendragon Foundation, a volunteer powered organisation. Pendragon is committed to restoring castles so that they can once again be vibrant centres of culture, commerce and community. Within these pages you can find out more about how they want to save Britain's castles.

Calendar:
This 2026 calendar features stunning paintings of castles from all around Britain. Featuring works by Joseph Turner, John Constable, and many other 18th and 19th century artists. The calendar provides information about each castle. It has all the Bank holidays for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, in addition to days which were traditionally important in the past, and to us now.
